One step closer to Africa

We bid you warm welcome to our Africa House in southern Sweden, just outside Hjärnarp—filled with African home furnishings and genuine craftsmanship from many African countries.

Watch our self-produced films about successful projects, preserving African wildlife for generations to come. In addition to all wild animals, you get to meet several world-renowned scientists who talk about their activities—such as the icon and chimpanzee scientist Dr Jane Goodall. We also show visitors a movie about Maasai people in Kenya.

AN AFRICAN CRAFTS STORE

In our store, you will find lots of crafts made from wood, metal and soapstone from about ten African countries. Gorgeous candles from South Africa, cups from Zimbabwe, and much more. Many of these items are hand picked in local markets, especially in Kenya and Tanzania, where we usually buy directly from the craftsmen. We have wonderful textiles by the yard, and summer clothing in beautiful materials—our Zanzibar Collection with pants, shorts, dresses, tops and much more.

Take a walk around our garden featuring a savanna like the one in Africa, but also many small “rooms” and hidden places where we and our guests can settle down, relax with a cup of coffee and Zanzibar cake and enjoy the peace and quiet. Among shrubs and other plants you’ll find bamboo, lavender, elephant grass and zebra grass, as well as various moss and wild grass from our own fields.
